Our Haven Children's Foster Mom's are AMAZING!

 

They are wonderful examples of sacrificial love, service and hard work!

 

I have formed some wonderful friendships with these ladies that I cherish so much.  It is very hard work to take care of special needs children, but they do it with a smile and a lot of love!

 

 

You can look at each one of our moms and just KNOW that they love these kids!

They work so hard, every single day...pouring love into the lives of all our Haven Children.

 

  For example...here is one of our older boys, who is autistic and once labeled "unteachable and difficult."  Now, he listens to simple instructions, comes for hugs, AND IS POTTY TRAINED!  (Okay, bush styled...meaning he signals when he needs to pee or poo and goes outside in the dirt or by a bush).  But, no more accidents anywhere!! 

All our moms are being an example to all the surrounding community adults and children on how to love unconditionally to a child that they once considered a 'cursed child.'  These communities are embracing these kids because of our whole His Safe Haven  team in Liberia changing perceptions!

             Back in Monrovia, the Haven Children are doing wonderful!!  Take a look at these smiles!

                            It's through our wonderful sponsors that we are able to provide quality foster care and our monthly food and medical supplies.  Here we are delivering the months food supply!

We are now sponsoring a Physical Therapist to come to our foster homes to teach and implement therapy.  This PT has a true heart for these children!

I am so very proud of our foster moms and our team in Liberia.  They truly have a love for the children they care for and work very hard.  They are such a big part of how well our children are doing!   When we first moved all the foster moms into another area, the community people wouldn't come around them because they were taking care of 'witch' children.  Through our moms, being a wonderful witness of sacrificial love and standing up for these children and showing the community the genuine love they have for our special children, the community children and adults now come and enjoy these precious lives too!  There are even a few community children that have fallen in love with a child in our program and sit and love on them!  Our moms and team are making an impact on their community by showing others what proper care and love can do to a child with special needs.

                 We had a wonderful birthday party for our Haven Children's Program.  We made many cakes, had balloons and decorations, music and dancing!
