Just a Little Love Makes a Huge Difference!

This is Barry...He is such a special boy and dear to my heart!  My greatest wish for him is to find a forever family.  He has the most sweetest and happy disposition, but will need a lot of medical care for his CP.  We are working hard on getting him the nutrition he needs and getting therapy to help with his tone and movements. His Safe Haven is now a registered NGO in Liberia and desires to give help and relief for these precious children now!

If you would like to sponsor one of these precious children (more children listed below), or would like to become involved with HSH...we would love love love to have you!

An Immediate Need!!! Urgent!

Update!  We only need 87 , 6.5,  5.5,  5,  4 more sponsors to cover the children's immediate needs!!!

His Safe Haven has been blessed with 13 special needs children!!

Through the recognition of His Safe Havens (HSH) vision and mission , the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare in Monrovia Liberia, has requested and entrusted HSH to immediately assume the care and welfare of 13 special needs children. With your help and support we are praying to meet the immediate food and medical needs of the frailest children who would otherwise have no hope. To accomplish this, we are seeking monthly sponsors for each of the children.

Loving and caring for these children the past two weeks in Liberia, has solidified our need to dive in and get the children the supplies they desperately need to survive.

If you would be willing to sponsor one of these small souls, please know that it only takes $100 per month to make sure they each get nutrition and medications to help their special needs. They are in foster homes with trained mothers who are able to view them as gifts from a loving father, in spite of the disability that placed them there.

These are children dear to our hearts, and our hope would be to get them all back to good health, and eventually moved to a forever family who can help them reach the potential God has for them.

If you are able to help financially, contact us so we can begin the process of healing for these special gifts from God. Partial or full scholarships are necessary. Together we can change the world for the ones who need it most!

Just a few snapshots of our two weeks...

Our two weeks in Liberia were blessed with God's gracious guidance, assurance, protection and provision...but also filled with a heaviness that is so hard to explain to those who have not been here.

Our heart for special needs children is so intense it hurts sometimes.  The need is sooooo great for a place for these special children...there is nothing for them here...yet.  God is moving and working and he CAN MOVE MOUNTAINS!  I sometimes have a hard time seeing past the need of a malnourished and neglected special needs child...but God KNOW and LOVES each and every one of his children.  He has plans, and I know His Safe Haven is going to be a part of changing so many of these precious lives in this country and beyond!

His Safe Haven is about faith...knowing God will provide in His timing and in His perfect will.  I KNOW He will bring people into our fold, I KNOW He will provide a means to see the building of our village, I KNOW He has very big plans for His Safe Haven.  The resting and the waiting is hard...but God's timing is absolutely perfect.

There is a lot to share about our intense two weeks...but I wanted to post pictures for those who have been waiting. Internet was horrible in Liberia, so I wasn't able to post much. Enjoy some snapshots of just some of our trip and I will be posting more later.

Pictures of the land!!

The first full day in Gbarnga we hiked through the land donated to His Safe Haven.  What a blessing to walk this beautiful land and touch the cornerstones.

This is such a wonderful picture of two cornerstones uniting together.  The old  cornerstone and our new cornerstone.  God has truly blessed us with this land.

                                          More hiking...and another cornerstone...

We placed the wonderful banner alongside the property for everyone to see! (Thank you Mike for the banner)!

This is such a gorgeous piece of property!
                                               The banner behind us...

                                                        Liberian pineapple is like candy.

We donated soccer balls and goals for two communities here.
The children were all so excited!

                                           Children in the village.

I had to post a picture of my boy, Barry.  I haven't seen that smile for so long and loved catching up on smiles and lovin's...

Thank you to so many wonderful donors for the food supplies.                                              We were able to purchase rice, oatmeal, rice cereal, formula and milk will last for the month.

Thank you for the donation of supplies of toys, clothes
diapers, vitamins, utensils, medicines, etc.  It's a great
                                           for these beautiful children!
Our sweet Sylvester is loving his new foster mom.  He was just recently rescued from a garbage dump from another organization and placed under our care.  He has the most sweetest disposition! All of God's children are such a blessing!  What a humbling opportunity we have to care for just a few.
