His Safe Haven Land Survey Done!

I felt so blessed when I received the pictures below.
This is the team hired locally to survey His Safe Haven's 10 acres.  From what I heard, it was a long, hard day, but they got it done!

I love seeing how beautiful this land is!

                                                                   Time to eat!

...built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone.  Ephesians 2:20

*Haven’t you read this passage of Scripture:“‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes"'. Mark 12:10-11.

The picture below is my favorite.  This is one of the cornerstones on the land.  What a beautiful correlation of Christ as our cornerstone, and Christ the foundation of HSH .

The SOLID ROCK...

God is the foundation, THE SOLID ROCK of His Safe Haven.  It started with a vision, a clear picture of a village. He said, "trust me, go, build, love, and teach them about me."

When God started showing me this new road that we would be walking, I could visualize this village!  As much as I try to explain to others what this village looks like,  it has been stuck in my head for over a year!  With the help of my 13 year old son, we were able to render a sketch of what His Safe Haven could look like!  Please keep in mind, they are far from professional!  At least we can share the general idea and layout of the land.  There is also a lot of room for expanding the school and adding more clusters of foster homes!  I get so excited thinking how wonderful of environment this will be for 'special needs' children, and how they will be able to shine so bright!

My greatest prayer for His Safe Haven, is to bring as many people as God calls, to become part of this family!

Blessings and more blessings!

During this last trip, not only did His Safe Haven receive a  donated beautiful 10 acres to build on, we also have been blessed with another 25 acres from another family, for the purpose of  planting  rubber trees and palm trees for self sustaining projects!  This family I have known for awhile, and I truly trust them, love and adore them!

Both of these wonderful families that have given us land, have such a  heart, a hope and vision for this wonderful community we will be privileged to be a part of.  WE ARE ALL SO EXCITED TO SEE GOD POUR OUT HIS BLESSINGS ON HSH AND THIS COMMUNITY!

Humbled and blessed!

Two children needing a little assistance...

Isn't she beautiful!  Her name is Rose, she is 8 yrs. old, and has Cerebral Palsy.  Her parents have done an amazing job raising her!  She is non verbal and cannot walk, but is very happy and healthy!  We would love to bless this family with a little 'outreach' help with enough funds to have Rose be able to go to physical therapy every week.
If you would like to bless this family in any way, please contact me.

Below is a handsome boy named Israel!  His momma loves his so very much and has taken such wonderful care of him!  Israel does have Cerebral Palsy, but is also Epileptic.  His mother has tried to seek out help to find a correct diagnosis for him.  Doctors have told her that his seizures are caused by a heart condition, but has never been able to afford to take him to a better hospital.  She has tried anti-seizure meds, but they have not worked.  We would love to be able to bless this mom and Israel, with enough funds to take him to Firestone Hospital, to try and get a diagnosis and possible treatment.  If you would like to help Israel in any capacity, please contact me.

A Little Village with a Big Heart!

I just returned from an amazing and God blessed trip!

I fell completely in love with this little village, including a wonderful pastor and his family, that have donated 10 acres to His Safe Haven.  The land was officially handed over to us on this trip, and will be followed up with the necessary paperwork.  I LOVED every second that I spent in and around this community, among the people that I will be getting to know very soon. We are so excited to see what God will do in this ministry, the village we will build, and the community surrounding it!

                                                     THE BEAUTIFUL LAND!!!!
AND THE WONDERFUL FAMILY THAT DONATED IT!

HIS SAFE HAVEN HAS BEEN  BLESSED BY A WONDERFUL LITTLE VILLAGE!

In the above picture, is the community elders of a small village that  donated 10 ACRES (plus more if needed), to His Safe Haven!!!
I consider this gift a true miracle!  After many many months and trips, seeing land and being told that we would never get land 'free and clear,' this IS a miracle!  As many times as I've heard this, God gave me the peace and assurance that 'yes indeed' we would be GIVEN land.  The waiting was hard and sometimes I almost waivered...but having no funds for land, we couldn't have bought any land anyways.  Land is expensive in Liberia!  I have looked at many properties, and just one acre of raw land is between $2000-$3000!
I will share the name of this community after I have officially met with them, and go through the legal documentation process to receive the deed of land.  I will be returning to Liberia sometime next month to meet this wonderful community of about 150 people and meeting with the youth of the community, who have agreed to clear a small road for access, and hand clear the first 4 acres of land for building!!  This community is so excited to have His Safe Haven and share in the building and the benefits it will have on their families and surrounding villages.  What an answer to prayer!  I am beyond excited to embrace these wonderful people, and am humbled at their gift!

*If you would like to become involved with His Safe Haven, in ANY capacity, just give me a call or email me!  I LOVE sharing the vision God has for His Safe Haven!  It will take many hands and feet to build this haven!

*If you feel led to pray...below is a list of  IMMEDIATE PRAYER NEEDS FOR
 His Safe Haven...

1.  PRAY FOR GOD TO PROTECT AND BLESS HSH.

                              2. INDIVIDUALS WHO WANT TO BE A PART OF HIS SAFE HAVEN.

                              3.  FUNDS TO PAY THE YOUTH TO CLEAR OUR ROAD AND THE FIRST 4 ACRES...$1250 AND $500 FOR TOOLS.

                     4.  A USED TOYOTA 4RUNNER AND THE COST OF SHIPPING...
TOTAL $6500.

5.  SOMEONE TO HELP DESIGN A PICTURE OF WHAT THE VILLAGE WILL LOOK LIKE.

THANK YOU TO ALL THOSE WHO HAVE CONTINUED TO SUPPORT AND PRAY FOR HIS SAFE HAVEN!

ALL THE BOARD MEMBERS AND MYSELF,  LOOK FORWARD TO SHARING THIS JOURNEY WITH YOU!!

TRULY HUMBLED AND BLESSED,
CHRISTINA

His Safe Haven delivers donated AFO's (ankle foot orthosis)

Before my trip to Liberia, I was given a ton of AFO's (foot/ankle braces) donated by an orthotist working at Gillette Hospital where our son goes for his appointments.
Knowing so many children with CP in the Monrovia area, and very few resources or supplies to help them, I knew this would be a very welcome gift to the PT department at one of the local hospitals in Monrovia.
THEY LOVED THESE!  JOSEPHINE (the head of the department), COULDN'T STOP SMILING!  She said they would be gone very fast due to so many children needing them.
I hope to bring more to her on my next trip.

A few thoughts...

These are two precious 'special needs' boys, that need His Safe Haven.

There is such a  need for a village like His Safe Haven in Liberia!  We heard so many terrible stories, and saw faces of so many children that need a haven to call their home.

The first little boy, is still being well cared for by his mother, but she truly wanted to give him up the day we met him.  He will be put on a waiting list for a foster home.

The other little boy (crying in the second picture), needed to be put immediately into a private foster home and is now being well cared for through temporary private sponsor funds.

There is a huge need for a place for families to seek help, that are choosing to raise their special needs child.  We need to give them support, respite, educate them on caring for their child...but most of all, show them the love of Christ!

His Safe Haven can be such a blessing to so many children, families, and even the surrounding communities.
If you would like to know more about the vision for His Safe Haven, or feel called to serve in any capacity, please contact me!
One of these days, we will be able to see the vision come to life.  I can't wait see all the individuals  that will be called to His Safe Haven, and fit all the pieces of this puzzle together.
