In Jesus' Arms...

Sweet Elizabeth has passed away this morning.
As hard as this is to write, I must rejoice knowing she is healed and dancing with Jesus!
This news has taken us by surprise. As we were preparing our new foster mom for her arrival, she was first admitted weeks ago into a hospital feeding program with her grandma staying by her side.  My team has been in constant contact with grandma and the hospital, joyful hearing how well Elizabeth was doing and grandma so happy how she was coming along.  Even just last night telling Josephus that Elizabeth was smiling and happy!
The hospital cannot tell us what happened, it's probably an underlying issue that no one could see.
Please pray for her grandma who is very disheartened, and our team in Liberia who truly cared for this sweet girl.
With all the help that has come in on Elizabeth's behalf, we are prepared to take in another child at any time.
Thank you for all the prayers for Elizabeth...she is completely healed in God's loving arms.

Some Personal Thoughts...

After this last trip and being home from Liberia one week, I have tried to process everything that we continue to see and experience.  Every trip just seems to get better and always include some amazing God moments, miracles and blessings!  I cannot even begin to tell you how humbled and blessed I feel to be involved with His Safe Haven, all of our Liberian team, board members, Pastors and all those involved here in the states, our sponsors and those just giving out of their hearts because they see the need!  God has truly blessed this program with wonderful people who have hearts full of passion for our children.

As we wait on God to open doors for this ministry, we continue to improve on all the needs in front of us.  Our children and foster moms are doing wonderful.  Each trip I try to leave knowing something new has been taught, something new has been learned, work on change where needed and  continue striving to better this program.  The need for a safe and loving environment for abandoned and/or neglected children with special needs is overwhelming.  The desire to help assist families  and give them hope for their child so they can raise them, is overwhelming,  We see so many children  brought to us by their own mothers, thinking that we are the only option for them.  My hearts desire for these moms, is to teach them, come alongside them and offer emotional support, resources so they are confident they can raise up their own child, a haven of support for moms choosing to parent the child with a special need.  It is a rare moment when we see a family that is raising their children with a special need...but what a beautiful picture that is to see!

Another big hearts desire is to be a SAFE HAVEN for the little ones that have no hope...those left in the dust, the bush to die, left on our doorsteps, naked in the pouring rain, those starving to death at the hands of their own family, neglected and shut away from the world because of the shame that will come onto their family from having a child like this.
Each one of our children in our Haven Program have a unique and sometimes horrible heart wrenching story of how they came to us.  So many that never got a chance, some we know of that will forever haunt our hearts and keep pushing us forward.  They are all precious in His sight!

PLEASE, we are asking for your continued prayers for God's hand in protecting our foster families and all those directly involved with His Safe Haven.  We are asking for prayers for God to lead in more people, resources and continue guiding us in this wonderful adventure.  This program is needed in the country of Liberia.  These are not just my words, but words we hear over and over and over again from so many others in Liberia, and as we continue to witness firsthand the children and their stories that we come in contact with.

God's will and timing are always perfect.  We will wait, work and know that HE will fling those floodgates open very soon for the His Safe Haven Village to be built and bless so many lives!

Thank you again for all those coming alongside us praying, giving and getting involved!  If you feel led to become involved in any capacity, please let us know, we would love to hear from you!

Be Blessed,
Christina
